Since May 1910, Central Newcastle RLFC, known as the ‘Blue & White Butcher Boys,’ has been a cornerstone of Newcastle’s rugby league. Our inaugural premiership victory in 1910 set the stage for a legacy of excellence, producing international stars like Clive Churchill, Wally Prigg, and Mark Sargent.
Central has clinched the Newcastle 1st Grade Premiership seven times, with our latest Club Championship in 2018. The Butcher Birds were launched through our Ladies League Tag in 2017 and Women’s Tackle in 2021. Both continue to be top contenders in their respective competitions.
CNRLFC pride ourselves on being an inclusive and family orientated club that values diversity, ensuring the club environment is fun and positive resulting in a welcoming club with a strong culture and community reputation.
